How to Boot Into Windows 8 Safe Mode

Boot Into Windows 8 Safe Mode

Microsoft made many tweaks and changes in its latest operating system window 8. Many new setting are added and many of the formal window 7 features are removed like the popular “START” feature. One of the removed feature also include “BOOT into Safe Mode”.

Earlier we just have to press F8 at boot time and window asks for whether to boot into safe mode or not. But the scenario is changed in window 8. Now if you want to boot into safe mode than you should know how and from where to do it. Here i tell you two methods to boot into window 8 safe mode.

If window 8 is running and you can boot into normal mode. Then search for msconfig and open it.

After that navigate to Boot tab, check Safe boot and select Minimal for any normal operation or you can choose other modes like networking for Internet access in safe mode.

Now at next start-up you will directly boot into safe mode. You can switch back to normal mode by just unmarking the safe boot.

If for some reason you can’t access msconfig than you can select this approach to boot in window 8 safe mode.

  • At time of boot/startup hold down the Shift key and repeatedly hit the F8 key.
  • You will see a recovery menu. Navigate to advanced repair options button and hit the Troubleshoot button in the next screen.

The next screen will ask you to restart your PC, after which you’ll see the familiar Advanced Boot Option screen – the same one that’s been around since Windows XP – and you can choose Safe Mode here.

  • In next menu click on Advanced option and chose Window start-up settings.

Safe-Mode-2

So I am sure that now you can boot into window 8 safe mode easily but still the question remains why Microsoft buried one of the most important feature of Window i.e Safe Mode.
